Senior Payroll Officer (CIPP Level 4)

About the role
We are recruiting a Senior Payroll Officer for an independent SEN school and college in Greater London. You will manage the end‑to‑end payroll for around 250 staff members, ensuring accurate and timely payments while complying with all payroll legislation. The role is primarily on‑site during term time with flexible remote working during school holidays.
Key responsibilities
- Process full payroll for approximately 250 employees each pay cycle.
- Maintain compliance with payroll legislation and internal policies.
- Resolve payroll queries from staff and liaise with finance and HR teams.
- Produce payroll reports and statutory filings.
- Safeguard confidential payroll data and ensure data integrity.
Required profile
- Minimum Level 4 CIPP qualification.
- Previous experience managing an in‑house payroll function.
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
