Senior Planner

About the role

At CHAP, the pre‑construction team drives project wins by shaping strategy, assessing risk and preparing detailed plans. As a Senior Planner you will create and manage programmes that guide projects from tender through delivery, ensuring they are realistic, competitive and aligned with client expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and manage tender, contract and construction programmes.
• Develop build strategies, sequencing plans and critical‑path schedules.
• Review tender documents to identify risks, opportunities and constraints.
• Prepare preliminaries, logistics plans and construction methodologies.
• Collaborate with bid, operations and supply‑chain teams to develop winning submissions.
• Deliver high‑quality tender responses, including programme and methodology content.
• Support project teams with programme monitoring and reporting during delivery.
• Contribute to risk management, health & safety and sustainable construction planning.

Required profile

• Proven experience in construction planning and programming.
• Proficiency in Asta Powerproject, Microsoft Project or similar planning software.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, contracts and procurement.
• Excellent communication, organisation and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams.
• Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness.
• Full UK driving licence.
