Senior Planner – Residential & Green Belt Projects

About the role

Penguin Recruitment is supporting a growing independent planning consultancy in Beaconsfield. The Senior/Principal Planner will lead residential and bespoke planning projects, providing strategic advice and managing client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage planning applications and appeals across diverse development projects.
• Prepare and review planning statements and supporting documentation.
• Advise clients on planning policy matters and development opportunities.
• Manage applications for domestic extensions and Green Belt developments.
• Conduct site appraisals and feasibility assessments.
• Liaise with Local Planning Authorities, consultees, and key stakeholders.
• Maintain client relationships as a primary point of contact.
• Support business development and contribute to consultancy growth.

Required profile

• RTPI‑accredited degree in Town Planning or related discipline.
• MRTPI qualification or working towards chartership.
• 2‑3 years’ planning experience in a consultancy or local authority.
• Experience with planning policy, domestic extensions, and Green Belt projects.
• Strong understanding of the UK planning system.
• Excellent written, verbal, and client‑facing communication skills.
• Proactive, commercially aware and able to manage projects independently.
