Senior Platform Architect – Kubernetes/OpenShift

About the role

We are seeking a senior Platform Architect to lead the design and evolution of a large‑scale enterprise Kubernetes platform that underpins business‑critical services. The role is strategic rather than hands‑on, focusing on defining platform direction, ensuring security, resilience and scalability while working in a hybrid environment (1‑2 days on site).

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the architecture and roadmap for the Kubernetes/OpenShift platform.
• Set architectural standards and guide engineering teams on best practices.
• Design high‑availability, disaster‑recovery and security solutions for production workloads.
• Drive infrastructure‑as‑code, CI/CD and automation initiatives across hybrid cloud and on‑prem environments.
• Collaborate with stakeholders in regulated or complex enterprise settings to ensure compliance.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in enterprise Kubernetes platform architecture (OpenShift a plus).
• Strong background in platform engineering, micro‑services and production‑grade systems.
• Eligibility for UK SC security clearance and UK nationality.
• Ability to influence technical direction and solve platform‑wide challenges.
