Senior Platform Engineer – AI Automation

About the role

As a Senior Platform Software Engineer in the R&D Automation team, you will combine strong backend engineering with hands‑on AI expertise to build agentic systems that transform how software is developed at Preply.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build AI agents and the harness that powers them using Python.
• Create reusable agent capabilities, tools and integrations that connect AI systems with our engineering ecosystem and internal knowledge.
• Develop agentic workflows across Engineering, Product, Design and Data, covering coding, testing, code review and the broader software development lifecycle.
• Rapidly prototype new AI approaches, validate them with data, and scale successful solutions.
• Design verification, context and human‑in‑the‑loop mechanisms to ensure reliable automation.
• Measure agent usage and value, iterating continuously based on feedback.

Required profile

• ~8 years of experience designing and building complex backend software systems.
• Production‑grade Python development experience.
• Hands‑on experience building AI agents or agentic workflows.
• Strong understanding of modern agentic AI patterns such as context management, tool use and orchestration.
• Ability to take experimental ideas from proof‑of‑concept to robust, scalable solutions.
• Excellent communication skills and minimum C1 English level.
