About the role
We are seeking a Senior Policy Executive to lead our client’s public policy function within the UK wholesale insurance and re‑insurance market. The role will steer multiple committees, manage complex regulatory workstreams and ensure the member voice is represented credibly with senior industry and regulator stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Lead core public‑policy committees, set direction, ensure governance and build consensus across diverse member views.
- Analyse and distil large regulatory updates from HM Treasury, FCA, PRA and translate them into concise policy briefs and guidance.
- Represent member positions in external forums, maintaining diplomatic relationships with government bodies and cross‑market partners.
- Prioritise, plan and oversee technical outputs, guaranteeing consistency and strategic alignment across the policy function.
- Mentor junior Public Policy Executives and Technicians, providing feedback and quality assurance.
Required profile
- Strong background in the commercial wholesale or London insurance market.
- Proven experience interpreting complex regulatory and legislative frameworks (e.g., PRA/FCA supervisory approaches, UK/EU regulations).
- Exceptional technical writing ability to convert dense reports into clear, actionable insight for senior leaders.
- Confident communicator able to lead intense committee meetings and engage members socially.
- Self‑motivated professional who works independently and delivers to a high standard.

What we offer
- Base salary £65,000‑£75,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
