Senior Political Engagement Manager

About the role

World Vision UK is seeking a Senior Political Engagement Manager to lead its political engagement with the UK Government and Parliament. The role will build high‑level relationships with Downing Street, FCDO Ministers and senior civil servants to influence policies that affect the world’s most vulnerable children.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a political engagement strategy targeting Downing Street, FCDO Ministers, senior civil servants and cross‑party parliamentarians.
• Build and maintain senior‑level relationships across the political spectrum and identify creative campaign and coalition opportunities.
• Oversee political monitoring, analysis and horizon‑scanning to provide senior advice and anticipate developments.
• Lead the preparation of high‑quality briefings, letters and correspondence for ministers and senior officials.
• Line‑manage the Child Participation & Advocacy Advisor and contribute to the leadership of the Policy & Advocacy team.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience working across UK political parties with a proven track record of high‑level political engagement.
• Deep understanding of Whitehall, parliamentary and government structures, including current governing‑party arrangements.
• Excellent politically astute writing skills, able to translate policy positions into targeted asks for ministers.
• Creative, entrepreneurial mindset for identifying campaign and coalition opportunities.
• Experience managing or coaching staff, or clear readiness to do so.
• Alignment with World Vision UK’s Christian foundation and commitment to social justice.
