Senior Practice Accountant

About the role

We are supporting a rapidly growing accountancy and business advisory practice that delivers trusted advice to SMEs across the UK and overseas. The Senior Practice Accountant will manage a diverse client portfolio, provide high‑quality accounting and advisory services, and help develop junior staff in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied portfolio of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, ensuring work is accurate and delivered on time.
• Prepare and submit year‑end accounts and VAT returns.
• Produce accounts to review stage and lead year‑end meetings with clients.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships.
• Support, mentor and develop junior team members.
• Contribute to process improvements and drive efficiencies.
• Maintain high‑quality client files and ensure compliance with professional standards.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified, or progressing towards qualification.
• Previous experience in an accountancy practice environment.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience preparing statutory accounts.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
