Senior Principal Game Engineer (Hybrid, Brighton)

About the role

We are seeking a Principal Game Engineer to join our co‑development team, responsible for player‑facing systems such as gameplay, UI, 3Cs (character, camera, controls) and AI across partner projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and polish gameplay features, UI systems and 3Cs to deliver responsive, intuitive player experiences.
• Own technical direction for player experience work, make architectural decisions and guide solutions from prototype to ship quality.
• Act as senior technical representative for partners, gathering requirements, presenting solutions and building trust.
• Debug and resolve complex technical issues using profiling and diagnostic tools.
• Mentor and support engineers, champion code quality through reviews.

Required profile

• Extensive experience developing and shipping games with a focus on player‑facing systems at a principal level.
• Strong C++ and C# proficiency, solid 3D mathematics knowledge.
• Deep experience with Unreal Engine (or similar) including Gameplay Framework, UMG/Slate, input and camera systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, and ability to communicate clearly with partners.
