Senior Private Client Tax Manager

About the role

We are recruiting on behalf of a respected Chartered Accountancy firm in Central London for a Senior Private Client Tax Manager. You will work with a diverse portfolio of high‑net‑worth individuals, entrepreneurs and family groups, delivering both compliance and advisory tax services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of private clients, providing full personal tax services.
• Oversee preparation and review of complex self‑assessment tax returns.
• Deliver proactive tax planning across income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax and succession planning.
• Advise on tax‑efficient structures and opportunities.
• Handle HMRC enquiries and correspondence.
• Build trusted client relationships and act as the primary point of contact.
• Identify value‑adding advisory opportunities.
• Review junior team work and provide technical guidance.
• Support the wider tax team on complex projects.

Required profile

• CTA qualified (or equivalent) with extensive private client tax experience.
• Background in a Chartered Accountancy firm or professional services environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK personal tax legislation.
• Experience managing high‑net‑worth client portfolios.
• Understanding of tax planning, trusts, estates and succession matters.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Commercial mindset with ability to propose tailored solutions.
