Senior Procurement Manager – NEC Contracts

About the role

As a Senior Procurement Specialist you will own end‑to‑end procurement projects, from developing sourcing strategies and managing tenders to supplier negotiations, contract award and ongoing performance management. You will act as a trusted procurement leader, aligning activities with project schedules, commercial objectives and operational requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic sourcing and subcontract procurement across major projects.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies and sourcing plans.
• Manage the full tender process, including supplier selection, evaluation and contract award.
• Draft, negotiate and manage subcontract agreements and terms.
• Oversee supplier performance and contractual obligations throughout delivery.
• Collaborate with Project Management, Engineering, Commercial and Planning teams to achieve cost savings and supply‑chain improvements.

Required profile

• Strong commercial acumen with experience managing subcontractors in complex, regulated project environments.
• Proven procurement experience in engineering, construction, infrastructure, defence or nuclear sectors.
• Deep understanding of subcontract management and contract flow‑down requirements.
• Ability to influence multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior procurement staff.
• Eligibility for UK security clearance and at least five years UK residency.

Required skills

• Knowledge of JCT contracts.
• Knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts.
• Experience with ERP and procurement systems.
• MCIPS qualification or progress towards chartered status.
