About the role
As our Senior Product Developer, you’ll play a key role in driving the sourcing and product development strategy across your categories, deputising for the Senior Product Development & Buying Manager when required. Working closely with Design, Buying, Merchandising and Technical teams, you’ll take ownership of the product journey from initial concept through to production, ensuring commercial, quality and critical‑path targets are achieved.
Key responsibilities
- Deputise for the Senior Product Development & Buying Manager and own sourcing and product development for assigned categories.
- Manage supplier relationships, including costings, appraisals, corrective actions and onboarding of new partners.
- Own product pricing and margin, negotiate costs and identify value‑adding opportunities without compromising design vision.
- Collaborate with Design and suppliers to develop new products, overseeing specifications, samples and delivery dates for seasonal buys.
- Manage the category critical path, monitor milestones and proactively address risks to meet lead‑times.
- Work with Buying, Merchandising, Technical and Sustainability teams to ensure smooth progression from development to final delivery.
Required profile
- Proven experience in product development or production within a fashion retail or premium brand.
- Commercially minded with strong cost negotiation, margin management and supplier selection skills.
- Highly organised with deep understanding of the product development process and critical‑path management.
- Confident communicator and negotiator able to build productive relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
- Proactive, solutions‑focused and able to challenge and influence decisions to keep product moving forward.
