Senior Product Engineer, Issuer Partnerships

About the role

We empower businesses in the digital economy and the Payment Performance pillar manages and optimises merchants' payment flow. The Issuer Partnerships team works directly with issuing banks to raise performance for our merchants. As a Product Engineer you will build the foundational layer to productise and scale this value stream, designing, building and shipping agentic workflows, APIs and internal tools.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and ship AI‑assisted workflows that automate resolution of issuer‑related performance issues.
• Develop APIs and data services that power partnerships with issuing banks, including data‑sharing programmes.
• Create monitoring and measurement systems to make programme impact visible across merchants, countries and banks.
• Build, deploy and iterate on LLM‑based applications (agents, knowledge extraction, automation) with a focus on adoption.
• Collaborate with data scientists, fraud, platform and gateway teams to scale solutions and increase operational autonomy.

Required profile

• Strong software engineering skills with experience taking APIs and services from prototype to production.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL, and a solid understanding of data‑driven development.
• AI proficiency and eagerness to leverage the latest technologies for productivity.
• Excellent communication and ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Experience in agile environments delivering high‑quality code under tight deadlines.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
