Senior Product Stewardship Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Product Stewardship Engineer based at 3M’s UK headquarters in Bracknell, you will act as the regulatory bridge between product development and market launch. You will ensure new products meet UK and EU compliance requirements while supporting the business with clear, practical guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted regulatory partner, translating complex compliance requirements into actionable guidance for successful commercialization.
• Lead daily approval tasks for new 3M products destined for the UK and EU, ensuring all documentation meets local regulations.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, handling enquiries on REACH, RoHS, Biocidal Products Regulation, Conflict Minerals and other UK‑specific requirements.
• Identify and implement process improvements, automation and data‑quality enhancements for regulatory information management.
• Prepare and maintain product compliance documents such as declarations, regulatory statements and internal assessment records.
• Monitor evolving regulatory landscapes, assess product impacts and disseminate insights to business teams.

Required profile

• Solid understanding of EU and UK product compliance requirements.
• Prior experience supporting compliance or product stewardship activities.
• Ability to interpret regulations and convert them into clear business guidance.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Materials Science or a related technical field.

Required skills

• Knowledge of REACH regulations.
• Knowledge of RoHS directives.
• Familiarity with the Biocidal Products Regulation.
• Understanding of Conflict Minerals reporting.
• Experience with compositional data management.
