Senior Professional Indemnity Underwriter

About the role

We are partnering with a leading London‑based insurance broker to hire a Senior Professional Indemnity (PI) Underwriter. You will manage a portfolio of complex PI risks for corporate clients, delivering tailored underwriting solutions and supporting the firm’s growth in a dynamic market.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite complex professional indemnity risks across multiple sectors.
• Assess exposures, set terms and price to achieve profitable business.
• Negotiate placements with insurers and manage the placement process.
• Advise brokers and clients on technical and coverage matters.
• Monitor portfolio performance and control risk exposure.
• Mentor junior underwriters and provide technical guidance.
• Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, internal procedures and FCA regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Professional Indemnity underwriting.
• Strong technical knowledge of PI lines, including Directors & Officers, Cyber and Errors & Omissions.
• Confident in dealing with brokers and senior clients.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation and decision‑making abilities.
• Ability to manage a portfolio independently and meet regulatory standards.
• FCA‑compliant; CII qualification desirable but not essential.
