Senior Project Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Project Accountant to join a fast‑growing technology organisation in Maidenhead. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will own project accounting for a diverse portfolio, ensuring accurate financial reporting, revenue recognition and robust control processes.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of project revenue recognition in line with UK GAAP and percentage‑of‑completion accounting.
• Manage work‑in‑progress, accrued and deferred income, contract assets and liabilities.
• Produce monthly project financial reports and reconcile project ledgers to the general ledger.
• Prepare trading results and gross margin for management accounts.
• Oversee project cost accounting, accruals, provisions and contract‑related balances.
• Support month‑end close, statutory reporting, year‑end processes and external audits.
• Develop and improve project accounting processes, controls and reporting.
• Collaborate with operational and commercial teams to enhance financial visibility.
• Supervise and develop Assistant Project Accountant(s).

Required profile

• Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant.
• Strong experience in project or contract accounting within a multi‑entity environment.
• Excellent knowledge of revenue recognition and WIP accounting.
