Senior Project Director – Grid-Scale Energy & Infrastructure

About the role

Mint Selection is seeking a Senior Project Director to lead the delivery of large‑scale energy and infrastructure projects across the UK. You will be responsible for overseeing projects valued between £100m and £500m, guiding them from late‑stage development through construction to commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and accountability for 1‑3 major infrastructure projects.
• Line‑manage and mentor 1‑2 Project Directors, raising delivery standards.
• Bridge strategic oversight and on‑the‑ground execution, staying close to project details.
• Define delivery strategy, including contracting approach, sequencing and risk mitigation.
• Manage multiple EPC and contractor packages, ensuring effective interface coordination.
• Own programme, cost, risk and commercial performance at project and portfolio level.
• Lead high‑value contract negotiations and maintain strong contractor and supplier relationships.
• Act as senior interface across development, engineering, grid and investment stakeholders.
• Ensure robust governance, reporting and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Extensive experience delivering complex, large‑scale infrastructure or energy projects (£100m+).
• Previous role at Project Director or Senior Project Director level within an EPC contractor, developer or principal contractor.
• Engineering or construction‑led background with clear delivery accountability.
• Strong commercial acumen, especially in contract strategy and negotiation.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑disciplinary projects and complex contractor interfaces.
