Senior Project Manager – Engineering Projects (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead high‑value engineering programmes for a leading UK defence and maritime engineering firm. The role is hybrid, based at Pottington Business Park with three days in the office and two days remote.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex bids, programmes and projects from concept through to delivery and in‑service support.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, quality, risk and commercial performance.
• Serve as the primary contact for customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and identify future business opportunities.
• Direct multidisciplinary project teams, fostering collaboration and clear communication.
• Develop robust project plans and ensure governance throughout the lifecycle.
• Capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement of delivery processes.
• Support business development by leading high‑value proposal submissions.
• Mentor team members and contribute to overall project management capability.

Required profile

• Significant experience managing fixed‑price engineering or systems integration projects worth several million pounds.
• Background in defence, maritime, aerospace or another highly regulated engineering environment.
• Proven ability to deliver projects safely, on time, within budget and to high quality standards.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with influence at senior levels.
