Senior Project Manager

About the role

The Senior Project Manager will lead complex New Product Design (NPD) projects from concept to market launch, ensuring delivery in line with the JFS Project Delivery Process. Based in Aberdeen with a hybrid working model, the role involves national and occasional international travel and requires SC‑level security clearance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and deliver projects independently across the full lifecycle, adhering to JFS governance and reporting requirements.
• Provide confident leadership to multidisciplinary teams and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
• Identify and mitigate risks and seize opportunities, implementing contingency and benefits‑realisation actions.
• Control project budgets, forecasts, cash‑flow, invoicing and payments in line with contract terms.
• Forecast resource needs, allocate teams effectively and oversee contractual obligations.
• Conduct risk and opportunity assessments, manage change control and capture lessons learned for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Adaptable leader with a proven track record of delivering commitments and building long‑lasting relationships.
• Experienced in taking NPD projects through gated processes to successful market launch.
• Strong mechanical engineering and manufacturing background with focus on robust design and Design for Manufacture.
• Ability to align cross‑functional teams, manage project plans, timelines, budgets and resources.
• Clear, influential communicator committed to safety leadership.

Required skills

• Project Management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP) from a reputable association.
