About the role
As a Senior Project Manager within the Gambling Commission’s Business Planning and Performance team, you will lead the delivery of complex, strategically significant projects. You will provide direction to multi‑disciplinary teams, manage senior stakeholder relationships and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
Key responsibilities
- Create and lead complex projects, delivering agreed outcomes within time, cost and quality constraints.
- Design appropriate project structures and delivery methodologies, providing effective leadership and management controls.
- Develop business cases and benefits realisation strategies, monitoring long‑term delivery of benefits.
- Identify and manage internal and external stakeholder relationships, securing senior‑level support.
- Identify, monitor and mitigate project risks and issues, managing inter‑project dependencies.
- Support governance processes, ensuring gateway reviews and assurance activities are completed.
- Implement change management processes to document and agree changes with stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans and report progress at project and portfolio levels.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to other project managers within the team.
Required profile
- Proven experience delivering complex, high‑impact projects in a public‑sector or regulated environment.
- Strong stakeholder management and senior‑level communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage risk, issues and inter‑project dependencies.
- Experience with project governance, assurance reviews and benefits realisation.
- Ability to lead and mentor junior project managers.
