Senior Project Manager – £70m New Build School

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of a landmark £70 million new‑build secondary school in Wakefield. The role covers the full project lifecycle from pre‑construction through to handover, ensuring programme, quality, commercial and health & safety targets are met.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of a major education construction project, coordinating all phases from design to completion.
• Manage site teams, subcontractors, consultants and client stakeholders to achieve programme milestones.
• Drive programme performance, monitor budgets, risk, procurement and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality standards and contractual requirements.
• Maintain strong client relationships throughout the project.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering large‑scale construction projects (£30 million+).
• Background with a main contractor; education sector experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management abilities.
• Degree or HNC in Construction or a related discipline.
