Senior Property & Casualty Underwriter – Niche Existing Business

About the role

IPS Group is partnering with a specialist niche insurer to recruit a Senior Property & Casualty Underwriter who will manage an existing portfolio of niche risks. You will be responsible for renewals and mid‑term servicing of business with premiums ranging from £5,000 up to £500,000 and beyond.

Key responsibilities

• Own a diverse portfolio of existing P&C business and drive profitable renewals.
• Negotiate terms, set pricing and ensure underwriting excellence in line with commercial strategy.
• Provide mentorship, coaching and audit support to junior underwriters and broker‑engagement teams.
• Collaborate with commercial partners, stakeholders and referral points across the organisation.
• Build and maintain strong broker relationships, positioning yourself as the underwriter of choice.

Required profile

• Significant experience in property and casualty underwriting, preferably with niche or specialty lines.
• Proven ability to manage a portfolio with premiums up to £500k.
• Demonstrated leadership or coaching experience within an underwriting team.
• Strong commercial acumen and relationship‑building skills.
