Senior Property Surveyor

About the role

Sanctuary Group is seeking an experienced Senior Property Surveyor to support its portfolio of care homes across Cornwall. The role involves overseeing capital and revenue projects, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintaining the quality of the stock.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor capital and revenue projects, managing consultants and contractors to ensure timely delivery and compliance with contract specifications.
• Conduct inspections and surveys to assess requirements for capital works, guaranteeing health and safety regulatory compliance.
• Develop and commission value‑for‑money reinvestment plans to keep the stock fit for purpose.
• Manage contractor performance, recommend improvements and implement actions to meet contractual terms.
• Ensure investment works comply with legislative and regulatory requirements, advising on necessary mid‑project changes.
• Prepare documentation for work specifications, tenders and management reports.
• Carry out routine stock condition surveys to provide data for investment decisions and proactive maintenance.
• Collaborate with Regional Maintenance Managers to deliver safe, well‑maintained environments and oversee planned and reactive repairs.

Required profile

• Recent experience in a similar senior surveying role within a building and surveying environment.
• Proven ability to work to deadlines and prioritize workloads.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety, legislative and regulatory standards relevant to care home properties.
• Experience managing contractors and coordinating multi‑disciplinary teams.
