Senior Python Developer – Hybrid – Up to £100,000

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Python Developer to join a leading investment bank’s engineering teams in London. The role focuses on building next‑generation internal platforms, modernising critical banking technology and exploring AI‑enabled proof‑of‑concepts.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop high‑performance Python applications for Global Markets, Regulatory Technology and Front‑Office platforms.
• Modernise existing banking systems, improving testing, delivery and security practices.
• Collaborate on security and governance initiatives and AI‑driven prototypes.
• Work across multiple engineering teams, each with a distinct technical focus.

Required profile

• Proven ability to solve complex technical problems using Python in financial services or banking.
• Experience or exposure to regulatory technology, trading/front‑office systems or security engineering.
• Interest in AI‑assisted development and how AI is reshaping software engineering.
• Senior‑level experience, ready to contribute to long‑term, strategic projects.
