Senior QA Automation Engineer – Remote with occasional office visits

About the role

We are supporting a client delivering a large‑scale digital platform and need a Senior QA Automation Engineer to join an Agile delivery team. The role is hands‑on, focusing on building and maintaining automated test frameworks, validating complex user journeys and ensuring quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain automated test frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Create and execute API tests (REST) including request/response validation and payload assertions.
• Automate end‑to‑end testing of modern web applications, covering multi‑step user journeys.
• Implement Page Object Model, reusable utilities and fixtures for test stability.
• Integrate automated tests into Azure DevOps (or similar CI/CD) pipelines and manage test artefacts.
• Collaborate with developers and product owners in an Agile environment to define test criteria and improve quality.
• Perform cross‑browser, accessibility and non‑functional testing.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a QA Automation Engineer or SDET, preferably at senior level.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with Playwright and TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Solid background in API testing (REST) and modern web application testing.
• Experience with Azure DevOps or comparable CI/CD and test management tools.
• Good understanding of Agile delivery and software testing best practices.
• Ability to design reusable automation frameworks (POM, utilities, fixtures).
