Senior Quality Engineer

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established aerospace manufacturing business in Bristol to find a Senior Quality Engineer. You will lead the Quality Management System, ensure compliance with AS9100 and customer standards, and guide a team of quality engineers in a fast‑paced, precision‑engineered environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Manage and develop a team of Quality Engineers.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by creating inspection plans, control plans and FAIRs (AS9102).
• Guide APQP and PPAP processes and approve supplier PPAP submissions.
• Conduct supplier audits, monitor performance and drive improvement.
• Lead root‑cause investigations (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone) and implement corrective actions.
• Review engineering drawings for manufacturability and risk.
• Ensure full traceability and configuration control of aerospace components.
• Monitor KPIs such as scrap, rework and yield, and support internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Strong background in aerospace manufacturing quality assurance.
• In‑depth knowledge of AS9100 and related aerospace standards.
• Experience with inspection tools (CMM, gauges) and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Proven track record in root‑cause analysis and supplier quality management.
• Leadership and mentoring experience.
• Continuous‑improvement mindset with strong analytical ability.
