Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager to join a specialist subcontractor delivering complex projects across data centre, defence, pharmaceutical, healthcare, manufacturing, electronics and logistics sectors. You will work directly with senior leadership, influencing commercial decisions and shaping the future of the commercial function.

Key responsibilities

• Manage commercial performance of multiple projects from pre‑construction to final account.
• Administer contracts under NEC and JCT forms.
• Control costs, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Oversee procurement and subcontractor management.
• Forecast cash flow and produce commercial reports.
• Support business growth through commercial strategy and risk management.
• Collaborate closely with Project Management, Pre‑Construction and Finance teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in M&E, construction or specialist subcontracting.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts.
• Commercial management on projects valued £1m+.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.
