Senior Quantity Surveyor & Commercial Manager

About the role

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager looking to lead the commercial function of a specialist contractor delivering high‑end fit‑out and decorative finishes? Reporting directly to the CEO, you will head the Contracts Department and drive profitable delivery across luxury commercial, hospitality and residential projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Contracts Department, supporting Contracts Managers and commercial support teams.
• Oversee commercial performance across multiple live projects, monitoring profitability, cash flow and work‑in‑progress.
• Review, negotiate and administer client contracts, managing contractual risk.
• Handle applications for payment, variations, claims and final accounts.
• Support cash collection, resolve commercial disputes and approve subcontractor procurement and valuations.
• Drive continuous improvement of commercial processes and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply‑chain partners.

Required profile

• Degree, HNC or HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or related discipline.
• 8+ years’ experience in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management, preferably within specialist subcontracting, high‑end fit‑out or decorative finishes.
• Proven experience leading commercial teams and developing staff.
• Membership of RICS or CIOB is advantageous.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of JCT contracts.
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts.

• Salary £65,000‑£70,000 per annum (DOE).
