Senior Quantity Surveyor – Energy from Waste Project

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial delivery of a high‑profile Energy from Waste project in Tilbury. You will work closely with operational and client teams, ensuring robust commercial control throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead commercial management of the Energy from Waste scheme.
• Administer NEC and NEC‑style contracts, ensuring compliance.
• Manage early warning notices, compensation events and contractual communications.
• Maintain accurate forecasting, reporting and cost‑control processes.
• Support procurement activities and subcontractor management.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risk in partnership with operational teams.
• Handle client relationships and commercial negotiations.
• Provide regular commercial updates to senior management.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on complex construction projects.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to work independently.
• Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• Ability to maintain commercial discipline on live projects.
