Senior Quantity Surveyor – Highways Project

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Structures team on the A417 Missing Link project in Gloucestershire. You will play a pivotal part in the commercial management of this high‑profile highways contract, balancing cost control with quality and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Manage commercial resources to maximise gross margin through effective contract and subcontract control.
• Administer change control with subcontractors in line with NEC4 procedures.
• Mitigate commercial and contractual risks while applying Kier’s risk‑management policies.
• Optimise cash flow by measuring, valuing and invoicing work, and processing supplier payments.
• Value subcontractor work and certify interim and final payments.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the highways sector.
• Relevant qualification – degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying.
• Strong written and verbal communication with the ability to build effective relationships.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management skills, with flexibility to travel when required.
