Senior Quantity Surveyor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Lead to join our Liverpool head office. The role will oversee the financial management of multiple construction projects from inception through to completion, with a focus on Tarmac and civil ground works.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed cost estimates, budgets and financial reports for each project.
• Manage tender processes and prepare subcontractor agreements.
• Conduct value engineering to deliver cost‑effective solutions.
• Monitor project costs against budgets and provide regular updates to senior management.
• Carry out site visits to assess progress, quality and cost performance.
• Maintain client and subcontractor relationships, ensuring clear communication.
• Ensure compliance with contract terms, quality standards and health & safety regulations.
• Resolve contractual disputes or financial issues as they arise.
• Prepare final account submissions and support post‑project evaluations.

Required profile

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field; RICS or CIOB qualification highly desirable.
• Proven experience in Tarmac, civils or ground works environments.
• Minimum 4 years as a Senior Quantity Surveyor and 2 years in a Commercial Lead capacity.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under pressure.
