Senior Quantity Surveyor – MEP/Construction

About the role

NG Bailey is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its North East team, based in East Boldon. This permanent position will oversee the commercial performance of medium‑to‑large MEP and construction projects, ensuring profitability and adherence to safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Promote and maintain a safety‑first culture across all project activities.
• Manage and coach Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors where required.
• Review and interpret contract terms, identify risks and capture opportunities.
• Oversee change‑order processes and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
• Prepare cash‑flow forecasts, submit payment applications and monitor receipts.
• Track project costs and revenue, assist with procurement and subcontractor management.
• Provide accurate reporting on costs, projections, contingencies, liabilities and margins.
• Develop long‑term stakeholder relationships and negotiate final account settlements.
• Maintain comprehensive project records and support dispute resolution when needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience handling the commercial side of medium to large MEP/construction projects.
• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).
• Relevant BSc/degree or willingness to work towards one.
