Senior Quantity Surveyor – Plymouth (3 positions)

About the role

We are seeking three Senior Quantity Surveyors to join the KierBAM joint‑venture team at the Devonport Royal Dockyard in Plymouth. The role involves managing the contractual and financial aspects of a high‑profile Royal Navy redevelopment project, working on‑site in a secure environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets and financial reports, and conduct cost planning and control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review, negotiate and manage contracts, sub‑contracts and variations, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
• Lead procurement processes, evaluate supplier bids and prepare interim and final payment applications.
• Monitor project progress, forecast final costs and identify potential financial risks.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers and contractors, and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or Civil Engineering; professional accreditation such as RICS or CIOB preferred.
• Significant experience in quantity surveying on construction or infrastructure projects, ideally within nuclear or defence sectors.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods and cost‑control techniques.
• Eligibility for BPSS security clearance and a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country, with five years UK residence.
