Senior Quantity Surveyor – Residential & Mixed‑Use Projects

About the role

We are supporting a growing contractor and housebuilder with an established development arm that delivers high‑quality residential and mixed‑tenure schemes across South East England. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will take full commercial ownership of projects, helping shape a modern, high‑performing commercial function as the business expands.

Key responsibilities

• Manage residential and mixed‑tenure schemes from pre‑construction through final account.
• Prepare and control development budgets, cost plans, valuations, cost‑to‑completes and monthly cost reports.
• Lead procurement activities, including scopes of work, tender packages, subcontract tendering and contract documentation.
• Oversee subcontractor accounts – valuations, variations, payments, progress meetings and final accounts.
• Collaborate with design and technical teams to align proposals with budgets, buildability and value‑engineering opportunities.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks while exploiting cost‑saving opportunities.
• Develop strong supply‑chain relationships and involve subcontractors early in design.
• Provide regular site presence to monitor progress, validate spend and support the project team.

Required profile

• Degree‑qualified in Quantity Surveying.
• 5+ years’ experience in housebuilding or residential development.
• Strong understanding of cost planning, procurement, subcontract management and financial reporting.
• Proactive, self‑driven and comfortable working with multiple stakeholders in a fast‑paced environment.
