Senior Recovery Worker

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Recovery Worker to lead a dynamic mental health crisis and early‑intervention service in Harrow. You will manage a diverse caseload, provide skilled de‑escalation and risk assessment, and support service users in accessing community resources.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a multi‑agency team, overseeing Recovery Workers, Peer Support Workers and volunteers.
• Act as shift lead (2 pm‑10 pm) making real‑time decisions to ensure safe service delivery.
• Provide day‑to‑day leadership, mentorship and reflective supervision for staff and student placements.
• Conduct audits, quality reviews and contribute to service development initiatives.
• Drive recruitment, onboarding and integration of volunteers.
• Represent the service in partnership forums and strengthen pathways with local crisis teams and community organisations.

Required profile

• Extensive experience supporting individuals with mental health difficulties, dual diagnosis and complex needs.
• Proven ability to manage complex cases and collaborate with a range of external services.
• Experience guiding colleagues, peer workers or students in fast‑paced, crisis‑focused environments.
• Strong grounding in trauma‑informed practice and a deep belief in recovery.
• Lived experience of the populations served is valued.

Required skills

• Knowledge of mental health legislation and safeguarding responsibilities.
