Senior Remote Support Engineer (Hybrid, £45k-£65k)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Remote Support Engineer to lead a team of Remote Support Engineers and provide expert second‑line technical support across a nationwide engineering operation. The role combines leadership, hands‑on fault diagnosis and the development of digital tools to improve service performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of Remote Support Engineers.
• Perform remote fault diagnosis on mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Support and coordinate field engineers to deliver fast, effective resolutions.
• Design, build and improve internal digital tools, dashboards and support processes.
• Analyse service performance data and identify continuous‑improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• Strong mechanical and electrical fault‑finding experience.
• Background in technical support, field service or engineering.
• Leadership or mentoring experience, or a clear desire to step into a senior role.
• Comfortable with IT, digital tools, automation and AI concepts.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• Experience with sensors, motors and mechatronic equipment.
• Remote fault diagnosis techniques.
• Digital tool and dashboard development.
• Automation and AI awareness.
