Senior Research Facilitator (RF) and Trusted Research (TR) Specialist

About the role

The Department of Physics at the University of Oxford is creating a new senior position to lead research facilitation and trusted research activities. You will support academics in developing high‑quality pre‑award funding applications, coordinate complex submissions, and ensure compliance with export‑control legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee pre‑award application activity and provide specialist advice throughout the funding process.
• Develop and embed trusted research processes, advising researchers on export‑control requirements.
• Coordinate complex grant submissions and manage related documentation.
• Resolve complex problems, set agendas, and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
• Build integrated support structures for trusted research within the department.

Required profile

• Excellent communicator with a passion for science and strong attention to detail.
• Proven ability to work independently, set priorities and manage time effectively.
• Experience in research administration, funding applications and knowledge of export‑control legislation.
• Ability to develop processes and provide specialist support to academic staff.
