Senior Research Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

We are supporting a leading research‑led organisation in developing and delivering advanced research computing services. As a Senior Research Infrastructure Engineer you will work closely with researchers, technical teams and senior stakeholders to shape the future of research infrastructure across high‑performance computing, AI and data‑intensive projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and improve large‑scale research computing infrastructure, including HPC environments and enterprise storage.
• Manage high‑performance networking and GPU‑enabled platforms, ensuring reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with researchers to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Lead technical workstreams or small project teams and produce documentation, guidance and training materials.

Required profile

• Significant experience in complex technical environments, preferably within a research or scientific setting.
• Proven ability to lead technical projects, solve infrastructure challenges and communicate with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
