Senior Residential Support Worker – Children’s Care

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Residential Support Worker to join a growing children’s residential care provider in Birmingham. You will work in small homes of 2‑3 young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties, delivering high‑quality, person‑centred support.

Key responsibilities

• Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.
• Act as a positive role model and mentor.
• Build effective relationships with young people, families and professionals.
• Support education, health appointments and recreational activities.
• Complete daily records, reports and care documentation.
• Contribute to care planning and risk assessments.
• Support colleagues and maintain high standards within the home.
• Promote positive outcomes and achieve placement objectives.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a children’s residential care setting.
• Experience supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive and resilient approach.
• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (preferred but not essential).
• Full UK driving licence (preferred).
