Senior Residential Support Worker – Children’s Home

About the role
The Senior Residential Support Worker leads daily operations within a children’s home, providing stability and guidance for young people. This role blends hands‑on care with leadership, ensuring a safe, nurturing environment while supporting the team.
Key responsibilities
- Lead shifts and oversee the day‑to‑day running of the home.
- Mentor and support Residential Support Workers on each shift.
- Build consistent, trusting relationships with young residents.
- Implement and adapt care plans as needed.
- Maintain safeguarding standards and a secure home environment.
- Prepare reports, plan activities, and coordinate shift schedules.
Required profile
- Previous experience in residential childcare.
- Level 3 qualification in Children & Young People (or equivalent).
- Experience with care plans and safeguarding practices.
- Ability to lead shifts and support junior staff.
- Confidence handling challenging behaviours and complex needs.
