Senior Residential Support Worker – EBD Children’s Home

About the role

We are looking for empathetic and motivated individuals to join our residential home team, providing consistent and nurturing care to children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This full‑time position offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in a child’s life while working in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
• Provide direct care and support in line with individual care plans.
• Promote a safe, nurturing and structured environment.
• Contribute to care planning, risk assessments and key working sessions.
• Support staff induction, training and lead shifts, offering guidance and mentorship.
• Ensure safeguarding and behaviour support procedures are consistently followed.
• Assist with daily routines including education, activities, appointments and personal care.
• Maintain accurate records and reports and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Required profile

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete within 2 years).
• Experience working with children or young people, preferably in a children’s home.
• Strong communication, empathy and resilience.
• Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and sleep‑ins.
• Sound understanding of safeguarding and therapeutic approaches to care.
• Full UK driving licence – desirable.
