Senior & Residential Support Workers – Children’s Residential Care

About the role

We are recruiting experienced Senior Residential Support Workers and Residential Support Workers for a specialist children’s residential service in Hyde, Greater Manchester. The role involves providing nurturing, person‑centred care to young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) within a safe residential environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support young people with EBD and complex or challenging behaviours.
• Build trusting, professional relationships and promote emotional regulation.
• Apply appropriate behaviour‑management and de‑escalation techniques.
• Deliver consistent, nurturing care and assist with daily routines and personal development.
• Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding procedures.
• Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
• For senior posts: lead the team, guide staff, assist with day‑to‑day home management and uphold high standards of care and safeguarding.

Required profile

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with EBD.
• Background in a children’s residential care setting.
• Confidence managing complex and challenging behaviours.
• Resilient, patient and nurturing approach.
• Strong safeguarding awareness and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a residential care team.
