Senior Risk Officer

About the role

Alfred H Knight is seeking a Senior Risk Officer to join its Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) team at the global head office in Prescot, Merseyside. The role is hybrid, with three days on‑site and two days remote, supporting the company’s rapid international expansion and over‑10% year‑on‑year growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain resilient risk frameworks that protect people and the company’s global reputation.
• Manage enterprise risk registers and leverage Power BI to produce clear risk reports for executive decision‑making.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with head‑office functions, business stream leads and international risk managers.
• Mentor and guide junior members of the GRC department, fostering professional development.
• Drive continuous improvement of risk methodologies and support data‑driven innovation.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading Enterprise Risk Management initiatives and risk assessments.
• Strong knowledge of risk management best practices and frameworks.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
• Analytical problem‑solving ability with a results‑oriented mindset.
• Previous role as a Risk Officer or equivalent in an enterprise setting.
• IRM International Certificate (or willingness to obtain) and fluent English.
• Valid passport for domestic and international travel.
