Senior RTL Power Optimisation Engineer

About the role

Apple’s Silicon Technologies group is looking for a senior engineer to lead power analysis and optimisation for next‑generation GPU products. You will shape energy‑efficient designs that power millions of Apple devices worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Estimate power impact of new GPU features and set realistic power targets.
• Simulate GPU power consumption across diverse workloads using RTL, gate‑level and emulation platforms.
• Analyse simulation data with scripts, power models, spreadsheets and machine‑learning techniques to identify efficiency opportunities.
• Collaborate with architecture, micro‑architecture, design and implementation teams to implement power‑saving improvements.
• Review architectural specifications to forecast power implications.
• Share low‑power best practices, develop new tools and methodologies, and communicate findings to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Solid experience in low‑power RTL design and optimisation of complex digital systems.
• Deep understanding of digital power consumption, estimation methods and low‑power design techniques.
• Self‑motivated, independent worker capable of driving projects end‑to‑end.
• Preferred: proficiency in Tcl, Python or similar scripting languages; experience with power‑estimation tools such as PrimeTime‑PX, Power Artist or Power Pro.
