Senior Security Engineer – 1 Year Contract

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Security Engineer to join a Government client on a 1‑year contract. The role is hybrid (40% office, 60% remote) and requires SC clearance. You will work on enhancing the client’s security operations using the Palo Alto Networks XSIAM platform.

Key responsibilities

• Implement, configure and manage the Palo Alto Networks XSIAM platform.
• Develop and maintain security policies, rules and configurations to improve threat detection and response.
• Integrate XSIAM with existing security tools and automate security workflows.
• Monitor security alerts and incidents continuously, analysing trends and potential threats.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to share threat intelligence.
• Provide technical guidance on cybersecurity matters to IT and business units.
• Prepare and present reports on incidents, trends and security effectiveness to senior management.

Required profile

• Active SC clearance.
• Proven experience in security operations and incident response.
• Strong knowledge of Government security standards such as the Cyber Assessment Framework and Minimum Cyber Security Standard.
• Ability to work independently and support a hybrid, UK‑wide team.
