Senior Security Engineer (Team Lead)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Security Engineer to lead a dedicated security engineering team in Leeds. You will combine hands‑on platform work with technical leadership, ensuring our security platforms are resilient, compliant and continuously improving.

Key responsibilities

• Act as technical lead for security engineering and platform architecture.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for complex incidents.
• Provide mentorship and line‑manage engineers and analysts.
• Own platform maintenance, configuration, lifecycle management and performance tuning.
• Integrate security platforms across hybrid cloud and on‑prem environments.
• Oversee patching, upgrades and platform improvements.
• Support detection engineering, tuning and optimisation.
• Lead automation and SOAR initiatives to increase efficiency.
• Collaborate with SOC providers on SIEM governance and data ingestion.
• Ensure platforms meet regulatory and compliance requirements and maintain documentation.

Required profile

• Significant experience in security engineering and platform management.
• Proven leadership of technical teams in regulated environments (e.g., financial services).
• Strong stakeholder and client engagement abilities.
• Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, AZ‑500 or SC‑100 are desirable.
