Senior Sexual Health Practitioner

About the role

The Senior Sexual Health Practitioner will join the Lothian Sexual and Reproductive Health Service (LSRHS) to deliver specialist sexual health care across a range of clinics and outreach services. This full‑time position involves providing inclusive, non‑judgemental care to diverse client groups, including young people, those seeking termination of pregnancy, and individuals with HIV or genitourinary concerns.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical care in Genitourinary Medicine (GUM), HIV, contraception, abortion and selected gynaecological services.
• Work across the Chalmers Centre and local LSRHS clinics, covering evening shifts and occasional long days.
• Support the HR+ young people service, CHOICES termination service and outreach teams.
• Contribute to the management and leadership of the nursing team.
• Develop knowledge in gender identity, psychosexual problems, menopause and other specialist areas.

Required profile

• Registered nurse or midwife with substantial experience in sexual health.
• Open, curious and non‑judgemental approach to patient care.
• Willingness to take on leadership and team‑development responsibilities.
