Senior SharePoint Developer – Migration & Modernisation

About the role
Our prestigious US law firm client is looking for a Senior SharePoint Developer to lead the migration of their SharePoint 2016 on‑premise environment to SharePoint Subscription Edition and SharePoint Online. The role is permanent, based in the City of London, and offers a hybrid working model (three days in the office, two days remote).
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop and support custom solutions on SharePoint Subscription Edition and SharePoint Online.
- Lead the migration of SharePoint 2016 on‑premise sites to the modern platform.
- Build SPFx web parts, extensions and integrations using TypeScript, JavaScript, React and REST APIs.
- Manage updates, patches, service packs and ensure platform stability, security and compliance.
- Administer service and web applications, site collections, permissions, authentication and governance.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor junior team members.
- Collaborate with project managers, business analysts and stakeholders to deliver aligned solutions.
- Recommend improvements to development standards, governance and architecture.
Required profile
- Experience in a law‑firm environment is highly advantageous.
- Extensive experience with SharePoint Subscription Edition, SharePoint Online and migration from SharePoint 2016 on‑premise.
- Strong expertise in SPFx development and modern front‑end technologies.
- Proven ability to integrate SharePoint with REST APIs, Microsoft Graph, C# and .NET.
- Hands‑on management of on‑prem SharePoint environments, including patching, upgrades and performance tuning.
- Knowledge of Business Connectivity Services, External Content Types and SQL Server optimisation.
