Senior Site Manager

About the role

The Senior Site Manager will lead day‑to‑day operations on construction projects up to £15 million within a 30‑mile radius of Luton. You will be responsible for delivering safe, high‑quality work on time and within budget while coordinating trades, subcontractors and client interfaces.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily site activities across multiple live schemes
• Manage trades, subcontractors and site staff
• Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks and safety inspections
• Maintain safe systems of work and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
• Drive productivity to meet programme milestones
• Control costs and manage activity within contract constraints
• Minimise environmental and community impact
• Coordinate interfaces between clients, consultants and internal teams
• Monitor progress against the programme and adjust sequencing as needed
• Maintain accurate site records, reporting and documentation
• Support commercial teams with variations, valuations and contract administration

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Site Manager or Senior Site Manager for a main contractor
• Background delivering refurbishment and new‑build schemes up to £15 million
• Strong understanding of JCT and NEC contract frameworks
• In‑depth knowledge of health and safety protocols and ISO standards
• Excellent communication, leadership and organisational abilities
• Ability to manage multiple trades and complex site logistics
