Senior Social Worker – MASH team

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Social Worker to join the MASH (Multi‑Agency Safeguarding Hub) team at Wokingham Borough Council. The role focuses on timely, evidence‑based decision‑making for child protection referrals, working closely with a co‑located multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and assess referrals, gathering proportionate information to support informed decisions.
• Collaborate with professionals to screen, explore and prioritise information, forming a clear view of each child's needs.
• Maintain accurate, timely records in the case management system and ensure data is up‑to‑date.
• Provide advice, support and sign‑posting to families and professionals in line with statutory guidance.
• Involve children, families and carers in decision‑making, respecting cultural and communication needs.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in child protection and safeguarding work.
• Ability to work effectively within a co‑located, multidisciplinary team.
• Strong knowledge of statutory guidance and local child protection procedures.
• Commitment to person‑centred practice, cultural sensitivity and professional conduct.
